- Validity period: maximum 4 years, if employment contract is shorter than 4 years, card is valid for the same period => extension possible in principle
- Blue card expires, in case of departures of more than 12 months
- Temporary work can be taken up, from annual gross salary of 58,400 euros (in 2023)
- Blue card is bound to employer. For change of employer within 2 years approval of the foreigners authority necessary.
